Since 04/2000, UMREG has kept fairly accurate weight records for up to 12 categories. Pop bottles, #1 PET, has been the most popular by volume and second heaviest during those 8+ years. Using some semi-accurate math, it's been figured that we've recycled nearly 2,000,000 pop bottles from 04/2000 to present. We've also recycled nearly 1,500,000 aluminum pop cans in that same time.

to 01/12/2008: ~1,863,200 pop bottles, ~1,472,622 pop cans

to 01/01/2009: ~1,890,000 pop bottles, ~1,482,054 pop cans

to 01/02/2009: ~1,915,801 pop bottles, ~1,497,617 pop cans

to 01/03/2009: ~1,944,835 pop bottles, ~1,516,245 pop cans
